Daithi @ Bourke’s Bar

Last Thursday night began with the unfortunate news that due to an illness, The Kanyu Tree had to bow out of that nights show. They have however, rescheduled their appearance and will be with us fighting fit next Wednesday (16th)!
So the task of entertaining a talent thirsty Thursday crowd fell squarely on the shoulders of young Daithí Ó Drónaí better known simply as Daithí

All in attendance were treated to innovation and tradition in perfect balance. Through the use of loopstations, sequencers, stylophones and of course his fiddle, Daithí intrigued and entertained in equal measure. With musical waves that hit with the brute force of Crystal Castles, the traditional reels of a Céile, the electronic poignancy of The XX to the low-fi trickle of Burial, Daithí definitely more than justified his role as a headline act. Daithí will be back in Bourke’s soon so keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground!
