Jape : Thursday Nights @ Bourke’s
Well…last night was un-flippin’ real wasn’t it? Great crowd, great vibe and needless to say a great performance from an outstanding act. Put in the simplest form, Jape absolutely “killed it” last night! With “The Oldest Mind” taking the number 1 spot in Nialler9 Readers’ Poll Top 25 Irish songs of 2011 and the latest album “Ocean of Frequency” taking the best Irish album of the year from nialler9.com too, it is clear Jape are drawing alot of attention at the minute and last nights performance made it very clear why.
From the opening bars off “One Of Those Days That Just Feels So Long” it was clear that this gig was going to be pretty special and it really was. As John said last night before the show, Jape really was the first name on the list when the idea of Thursday night gigs was born and it is so fitting that they were the last show before Christmas. Again, a massive thank you to Richie, Glenn & Neil for coming down. John for all his hard work, all involved and most importantly you, the gig going folks of Limerick. You folk rock… bigtime!
Merry Christmas from all at Bourke’s!
